Attempted a panorama of the view from my hotel in Copenhagen. Downtown is on the left, with Christianshavn across the river in front. (Map)

  • @sowrey I can't possibly cover all the points Keith made in his presentation, you should really check it out, should be online in a day or 2

  • @sowrey you guys are knocking MS/IE (and deservedly so), but HTML5's design largely makes such concerns surprisingly moot

  • @humantorch @sowrey the main new html5 thing that IE doesn't support is styling arbitrary tags (ie, <header>), and there's scripts for that

  • @humantorch @sowrey html5 codifies stuff that has ALWAYS worked, but has been defined as "invalid". It reflects current browser reality
    15 years 36 weeks ago
  • @humantorch @sowrey but that's the beauty of it, most "new" stuff in HTML5 (eg, <!DOCTYPE html>) ALREADY WORKS in IE. It's designed that way

  • Been "meh" on HTML5; assumed browser support would take years, Keith really sold me on how well thought out the backwards compatibility is

  • Keith on HTML5 vs Flash (ie video): It's not a war, use both! Embed Flash inside <video>, browsers that understand <vid> will ignore Flash
