@sowrey the GMaps licensing terms go back to 2007. The new idiotic lawsuits have nothing to do with this.

@sowrey so Apple had no choice but to ditch GMaps and use their own mapping DB if they wanted to provide turn-by-turn. Hardly a "hissy fit"

@sowrey Apple wrote the original Google Maps app too.. they just used Google's data. The license of which forbid turn-by-turn navigation

@sowrey @webdevmorgan AFAIK, Google's terms forbid Apple from improving the Google Maps app with features such as turn-by-turn. Blame Google
