  • @iwantherlife I will destroy you at Sports Resort Ping Pong (because I could never beat @kportsmouth at the real thing)

  • @jon_wilkins oh, at least 10-15% of it was absolutely awesome. The parts where they were talking, not so much. "The Losers", way better

  • Oh hey Duke Nukem Forever got picked up by a real studio (Gearbox) and they're actually going to finish it: http://bit.ly/bwECRG #notjoking

  • Saw "Expendables" last night. Some awesome action sequences couldn't save it from some of the worst dialog & acting since Star Wars prequels

  • @januarylark Ooh you're at the CNE? Didn't know it was open. Go on The Rotor :)

  • @Neeka1 I just don't see the point of the whole grid arrangement. Seems gimmicky with no real benefit. Plus I hate Flash-only sites
    15 years 51 weeks ago
  • @Neeka1 still seems complicated. Even after their 3-page tutorial (!?) their "Tile Navigation" thing still makes no sense to me

  • Jeremy Keith's HTML5 keynote now online. Highly recommended for just about anyone, but esp. frontend/IA/UX/design: http://bit.ly/c9x8A2

  • @sowrey funny you should say that, we used vc.com as a guinea pig trying to reproduce an upgrade path bug: http://drupal.org/node/826640

  • Attending code sprint on final day of #drupalcon. Hundreds of geeks trying to fix remaining Drupal 7 issues. http://twitpic.com/2ilnl7

  • @j3r3myjf @sowrey relying on advanced unsupported features, definitely a bad move
    16 years 1 day ago
  • @j3r3myjf @sowrey I'm only talking about stuff that already works fine in IE. Like <!doctype html>. Like <script> vs <script type="...">
    16 years 1 day ago
  • @j3r3myjf how do you mean? because HTML5 is less strict?
    16 years 1 day ago
  • @sowrey agreed re scripts, so don't use the new tags, but there's a lot of stuff than CAN be used immediately, which I think is pretty cool
    16 years 1 day ago
  • @sowrey yes, "deservedly so". The point is that MS doesn't NEED to "make it work", for HTML5 to be useful TODAY. Which really surprised me

  • @j3r3myjf just curious, why do you say that? Is cellphone infrastructure inherently cheaper than internet infrastructure?

  • @ristotreksler plus it doesn't seem to work when pasting into Word
    15 years 11 weeks ago
  • @ristotreksler interesting, thx. But "Apply the style of the surrounding text" isn't quite the same, what if there IS no surrounding text?

  • @poploser but.. they showed photos of CDs! Surely the thought that it could be used on MP3s of "questionable origin" never occurred to them
    15 years 11 weeks ago
  • @zyphen I totally get what you mean about them showing off features that have been around for decades as if they're rocket science though ;)
    15 years 11 weeks ago
  • @zyphen right, but stuff being supported at the OS level does make a difference. Eg, now every app doesn't need its own version of autosave
    15 years 11 weeks ago
  • 20 years ago, everything ran in "full screen mode". Now it's a touted feature. ;)
