  • @sowrey I can't possibly cover all the points Keith made in his presentation, you should really check it out, should be online in a day or 2

  • @sowrey you guys are knocking MS/IE (and deservedly so), but HTML5's design largely makes such concerns surprisingly moot
    13 years 37 weeks ago
  • @humantorch @sowrey the main new html5 thing that IE doesn't support is styling arbitrary tags (ie, <header>), and there's scripts for that
    13 years 37 weeks ago
  • @humantorch @sowrey html5 codifies stuff that has ALWAYS worked, but has been defined as "invalid". It reflects current browser reality
    13 years 37 weeks ago
  • @humantorch @sowrey but that's the beauty of it, most "new" stuff in HTML5 (eg, <!DOCTYPE html>) ALREADY WORKS in IE. It's designed that way

  • To summarize "Priority of Constituencies": In case of conflict, Users > Authors > Implementors > Specifiers > Theoretical Purity. #drupalcon

  • Been "meh" on HTML5; assumed browser support would take years, Keith really sold me on how well thought out the backwards compatibility is
    13 years 37 weeks ago
  • Keith: "Priority of constituencies", brilliant slide. #drupalcon http://twitpic.com/2ia82c

  • Keith on HTML5 vs Flash (ie video): It's not a war, use both! Embed Flash inside <video>, browsers that understand <vid> will ignore Flash

  • Spoke w/ Dries for a few after Rasmus' keynote! Thanked him for Drupal and his inspiring keynote, and plugged visitcalgary.com :D #drupalcon

  • Q: "How do you stay excited about PHP?" Rasmus: "I've never been that excited about PHP, so it's easy to keep up that level" LOL #drupalcon

  • Rasmus Lindorf's keynote. Started with advanced PHP 5.3, then Drupal performance. "Why require_once everything!?" #drupalcon

  • In fact, it's so windy here they can't even make their buildings straight. http://twitpic.com/2hz67l

  • And then a big gust of wind knocked over every bike in Denmark. http://twitpic.com/2hz5xk

  • @sowrey besides which, you're making the assumption that dawn is when I've been waking up, as opposed to going to sleep ;)
    13 years 37 weeks ago
  • @sowrey poetic license, it's actually 7:30 ;)

  • Saw X-Men First Class last night. Kevin Bacon is a freakish evil genius who defies the laws of physics. Also, he has a role in the movie.

  • @anneaconda oh well, we'll always have the "Notepad-in-the-middle" technique ;)
    12 years 49 weeks ago
  • @anneaconda how many petition signers do you think we'd need to get every software maker on the planet to implement such? ;)
